The Abu Dhabi Art public programmes are designed to generate an exchange of ideas between some of the world’s most influential artists, collectors, gallerists, writers and curators. The programmes are conceived to highlight elements of Abu Dhabi Art and associated exhibitions, to create a forum for exploring the dynamic and ever-expanding cross-currents of art and culture in the region and ultimately to inspire and illuminate its varied audiences.
As TDIC and ADACH present the 2011 edition of Abu Dhabi Art, exceptional displays of modern and contemporary art are accompanied by an equally remarkable series of educational opportunities. Specialized hands-on art-making workshops for families, teens and adults will include a range of topics, such as Acrylic Image Transfer, Plein Air Landscape Drawing, Life Cast Sculpture, and Solar Printmaking, all linked to Abu Dhabi Art and to ongoing exhibitions.
In addition to the workshops, tours of the outdoor sculpture platform Beyond, and the Art, Talks, and Sensations exhibition, will allow groups to further explore specific elements of Abu Dhabi Art and contemporary art. Finally, a space entitled Art Zone, is where young children under 12 and their families can create artworks inspired by Abu Dhabi Art. Regardless of age or present level of knowledge, the Abu Dhabi Art Education Programme will enlighten, inform and inspire everyone.
